The first gig I had with photography was as a fashion photographers assistant in NYC in 1979. ( Altho  I did pose in the studio in NYC when I was 5 or so ! See photo below )

Since then I’ve lived most of my life in Vancouver, Canada. However I’ve moved around a lot and lived in Sydney, Perth and Byron Bay in Australia, San Francisco and North Berwick in Scotland. I’ve travelled extensively in Europe, SE Asia, North America and Australia etc.

My formal education in photography started studying Fine Art Photography at Emily Carr Art Institute in Vancouver and then Documentary Photography at  San Francisco Art Institute.

After graduating I worked for Greenpeace in British Columbia and worked on the Mediterranean  Campaingn on board the ‘Sirius’ as photographer/deckhand/diver.

I’ve been published in newspapers in Canada and Australia including the Vancouver Sun,

Globe and Mail, The Australian, The financial Review and many others.

During my time in Perth, Australia I  taught  photography at Central Tafe and Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts.

I’ve worked in the film & tv industry in British Columbia and Western Australia in the last 20 years doing film stills, camera assisting, dressing sets and buying .

I love to travel and have had an adventurous past 10 years, photographing diving in Borneo, hiking in Indonesia, train travel in Europe, road trips, cycling and hiking in Scotland and British Columbia.
